Do I Need a Bookkeeper or Accountant?

Depending on the size of your business you may want to employ both a bookkeeper and an accountant. They both have job duties that are very important to the growth of your business. Bookkeepers will record all of the important financial data that makes the business grow. When you know where your expenses are going and where the most profit comes in you will be able to improve on your business. An accountant can tell you where all these things come into play. While a bookkeeper uses software to record all the transactions, an accountant will use the software to do an analysis of the records.
Both jobs are important. You need to know that all transactions both incoming and outgoing are reported and you need to know where and when these transactions take place. Bigger businesses will want to do internal audits on different departments to make sure they are doing their best. It is a good way to see which departments are turning a profit and which are costing you money. You can then make changes to fix any problems you may be having.
If you don’t keep a record of incoming and outgoing moneys you will never be ready to increase your business. You won’t be ready to do taxes at the end of the year or be ready for an audit. You must keep accurate records of all transactions your business makes. It is important to the success of your business and the government will know you are making the proper payments. Trying to have a successful business with no bookkeeper is impossible. As long as you are creating something the public wants and you turn a profit you must record it. It is not even about a profit but trying to make a profit. When you have a bookkeeper you will have everything about the finances at your fingertips. Hiring an accountant full time or part time may be necessary as well.
